Shoals Club Opens for 2014 Season

The Shoals Club officially opened for the 2014 season last weekend, showing off some great improvements and upgrades that had been made during the off season. Spring is almost here, and what better way to celebrate the end of a long winter than with a beach party? The March edition of the Maritme Market's Howl at the Moon Sunset/Moonrise party happens this Sunday, March 16 and is being sponsored by the Shoals Club. Registration is now open for the Bald Head Island Conservancy's  summer programs. The Conservancy offers family adventures aimed at the whole family and children's camps that give budding naturalists a chance for hands on learning about barrier island ecosystems. Some new family adventure programs are on deck for 2014, including expanded dissection offerings and specialty workshops. 29th Annual Maritime Classic Set for November 9

29th Annual Maritime Classic Set for November 9

The 29th Annual Maritime Classic Road Race will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2013 on Bald Head Island. For the first time this year, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Old Baldy Foundation for their Fresnel Lens fundraising campaign. The race courses feature a one-mile fun run, 5k and a US Track and Field certified 10k and is managed by the Wilmington Road Runners . Halloween Fun at the Shoals Club

The Shoals Club is celebrating Halloween in style this year with a party just for kids and the perennial favorite Trick or Treat Trail. Both events take place on Friday, October 25. Island residents can sign up now to be part of the Trick-or-Treat-Trail and greet little ghosts and goblins as they visit island residents and businesses.
