The next Howl at the Moon Sunset/Moonrise party happens tomorrow night, and is generously sponsored by Ann & Lawry Bump. We'll gather as usual at Beach Access 39 from 4-6 p.m., and we'll have the bonfire blazing. Chef Chip is bringing a huge pot of soup. BYOB and bring an appetizer to share. The sun will set at 5:14 p.m. and the moon will promptly rise soon after - at 5:20 p.m., to the Celtic melodies of our bagpiper.

The “Pirates Are Coming” Festival, Bald Head Island’s annual weekend of revelry and mayhem, is almost here!
Hosted by the Old Baldy Foundation as a fundraiser, the event kicks off on Friday, August 1 with a Pirate Block Party and invasion of the island by Sinbad and the crew of the Meka II. On Saturday, eat Pancakes with Pirates and check out the Pirate Ghost Walk. Wind up the weekend on Sunday with a pirate-themed race and family-friendly Pirate Shindig at the Shoals Club.
