Shoals Club FAQs

What special privileges do full Shoals Club members receive?

Full members receive a 25% discount on food purchases at the Shoals Club, not including special dining events. They also enjoy exclusive access to members' socials, special members' dinners and the annual Labor Day Members Party. Please remember to bring your member card with you when you visit the Shoals Club. This is especially helpful to the staff when charging to the Shoals Club member account and should help us ensure accurate billing to your account. Replacement cards are available at a small fee. Please contact the office at 910-454-4888.

I'm a full member of the Shoals Club. Can my family/guests come to the club without me?

In order for your family or guests to be able to come to the club unaccompanied by a Full Member, they must purchase a Guest Pass or an Extended Family Annual Membership. Extended family members shall include the parents, children who are over twenty-three years old, grandparents, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the member and the spouse of such family members.

I'm coming to the island in the off-season. Will the Shoals Club be open?

Please refer to our hours of operation for our various dining venues and other amenities.

What payment types does the Shoals Club accept?

The Shoals Club is a cashless operation. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Additionally, full members may choose to apply charges to their Shoals Club account.

Am I allowed to bring my dog to the Shoals Club?

Dogs or other pets (except for service animals) are not permitted on the Shoals Club facilities, except with the express written consent of the Shoals Club. Where dogs are permitted on the grounds, they must be on a leash. Members are responsible for damage caused by an animal owned by the member or under the member's control.

Do I have to bring my own towels, beach chairs and umbrellas?

Lounge chairs, umbrellas and pool side towel service are available daily on a first-come, first-served basis when the Shoals Club pool is open. Please refer to our hours of operation for details. Please be prepared to provide your membership card or guest pass. We request that you return your beach chairs, umbrellas and towel to the appropriate location when you leave the club.

What is the average temperature of the pools?

In season, our saltwater pools are heated to an average temperature of 81 degrees.

Are there lifeguards on the beaches?

No, swimming is at your own risk and we highly recommend adult supervision for any children playing in the ocean. The waters directly surrounding the cape tend to have strong currents and beach goers strolling the cape’s sandbars can quickly find themselves in deep water when the tide comes in. South Beach and East Beach are better areas for swimming. Stay alert to conditions and never swim alone.

Can I pack a picnic and have a poolside lunch?

The Shoals Club does not allow outside food on property.

What happens if my golf cart battery dies while at the Shoals Club?

The Shoals Club company policy does not allow guests to charge their carts at the club. For assistance, call Cary Cart Company, Always Ready or your rental agent/homeowner.
